Skin care problems

Ok so I have had some real bad problems with my face and while I love wearing make-up and hiding anything that  I feel is annoying but I also love being able to go out wearing nothing at all but moisturiser, many days I go to uni and with just that a little bit of blush, under eye concealer and im done.

I don't like to get used to wearing foundation everyday as I feel in the long run it isn't the best for your skin.

However about a month a go I started getting a few very stubborn spots and pimples that did not necessarily  have the typical white puss but rather they were the hard deep painful under the skin type that left my skin looking bruised and rather painful looking too and I just could not go out without foundation!

I also had a few spots on my forehead and I could not really get why this was happening, was I having too many lazy days of not taking my make up off properly? was I not eating enough fruits and veg as I used to?

Who knows it could just be a once in a lifetime hormone issue, or maybe my skin is just changing in the mean time I needed something REALLY GOOD to get my skin back to its good condition.

I should just quickly mention what I have been using in the past 2 weeks to try and save my skin but I feel I may need something more tailored to normal combination rather than just dry which for the most part my skin is sometimes, but as I have mentioned I do get the occasional spot and I always have blackheads so maybe my skin is just not oily but more on the drier side yet I still get horrific deep pimples aka (normal/combination)

  • Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing serum
  • Neils yard Orange flower facial oil
  • Elemis Balancing Lavender Toner
I really love the Neils yard facial oil I have gone through 2 already it really moisturises my skin I haven't used a cream for night time for a year.

My mum bought the tri-enzyme set from QVC a year a go and I tried the set for a few months but something is telling me that even though tri-enzyme is designed to combat problematic skin I feel it may be making it worse as I did develop a few new little spots on my forehead and on the clear side of my face BUT people are different I could have something else going on with my skin that I do not know off.

The Elemis balancing toner is the best I feel it moisturises my skin and does not break me out I actually just spray it on to my hands pat together and then pat on to my face.

What I hope will work

After hours of research and reading reviews and other peoples thoughts on this brand I decided to purchase three new products to try and help me with my breakouts.

I basically needed a good eye cream as I use my Bobbi brown one during the day under concealer I decided to get this and keep it next to my bed to remember to use it.

From the Boots website
LA ROCHE-POSAY HYDRAPHASE Eyes
LA ROCHE-POSAY HYDRAPHASE Eyes 15ML HYDRAPHASE Eyes provides instant,
long-lasting hydration to reduce the appearance of bags, puffiness and dehydrated
fine lines around the eyes.

From the Boots website

I bought this because while I need a good cream like the one below to "sort my skin out" I must use a good hydrating cream during the day or it will flake and get worse so I chose this, to be honest there are so many creams to choose from you have to spend a good amount of time reading each one to make sure you get one for your face type I was going to get "very sensitive skin" one but as the whole range is made for that I did not think I needed it.

Intense provides high performance rehydration for sensitive skin and protects skin

from the harmful effects induced by UVA rays. Day after day your skin will feel supple

and moisturized.

I bought this cream to use as my night cream to work on my problematic skin during the night, I also read that it can be a little drying which is also why I chose to wear it at night it contains so spf so you can do that other people have said they prefer to use it that way too.

If I feel that it is causing really bad dryness I may apply some of the facial oil every now and then to keep my skin moisturises if it needs it.
Product info from Boots website

EFFACLAR DUO  Corrective and Unclogging Anti-Imperfection Care helps reduce the appearance of imperfections and purifies pores. Effaclar Duo is a complete skincare solution that combines 4 active ingredients to act on the 2 major signs of skin with imperfections. Niacinamide and Piroone Olamine help reduce severe local imperfections by purifying the skin and protecting against breakouts developing.
The LHA/Linoleic Acid combination helps unclog pores by eliminating dead cells responsible for their obstruction. These active ingredients are combined with soothing and anti-irritating La Roche-Posay thermal spring water.
Pores are purified, and imperfections appear reduced. Skin looks smoother and clearer. It appears to regain a long-lasting balance to help recover the qualities of more healthy-looking skin.
Effaclar is the complete solution adapted for all types of imperfection prone skin. Naturally hyperactive sebaceous glands produce an excess amount of sebum. The skin tends to become shiny. Under the influence of environmental variations, sebum can oxidise and stimulate sebaceous glands even more. The pores get blocked and imperfections may appear.

La roche posay is a French pharmicutical skin care brand that you can buy in the UK in larger boots stores, the boots website states the following about the brand.

What I really love about this brand is that they don't contain perfumes or parabens I have such high hopes for this brand especially since I spent a bit on them but let us see what will happen I do hope to give a review in about a month to let you guys know how it is and if I am doing well on it

Has anyone else tried La Roche Posay products? what do you guys think of it?

Good things Skin care

As some of you may know I really dislike foamy cleansers and have for many years but did not know exactly why I hated them so much, OK so I knew that they were drying the heck out of my face but I just thought it was normal and that's what a "clean face" should feel like.

HOW WRONG I WAS!

In the past 3 years I have been hooked on Alpha-H skincare, it was great, worked for my skin, hydrated me and best of all they made cleansers that did not FOAM. I did a mini haul/review of some of their products the link for that is here.

However as much as I loved them I was reaching a point where I needed something cheaper since I stopped working as the uni work load increased.

So when my Alpha-H cleanser finished I went to Boots to see if they had anything that was similar to my non foaming cleanser ( I have dry/normal skin) and as I browsed I saw "Good Things".

This is what they are basically about:
"GOOD THINGS SKINCARE HAS BEEN DEVELOPED BY
AWARD-WINNING BEAUTY WRITER ALICE HART-DAVIS USING
HER YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY.
THE GOOD THINGS RANGE USES SUPERFRUIT BEAUTY BOOSTERS
IN GENTLE, SUPER-EFFECTIVE FORMULATIONS AND IS SPECIALLY DESIGNED TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR SKIN."

They also say that they are free from parabens and all the other nasty stuff :)

So I bought the creamy cleanser and the exfoliator, and both smell amazing, they are packed with ingredients like "blueberries, goji berries", lots of other things which you can see on their website .

What do I think?

Three months on so far so good I do not use the exfoliator as much because I have been incorporating a muslin cloth in the cleansing part but when I feel my skin needs a little work when haven't been wearing make up I use it.

They cost around £4.99 which is defiantly a good price to me and I will be purchasing them again.

Have you guys tried "Good things" yet?

Let me know how you guys got on

Neal's Yard LOve me :)

Follow my blog with bloglovin

Yes you guest it today is going to be all about Neals yard! This post is more of a skin care post since most of the products I use these days are from Neal's Yard.

I just love their products everything works for me my skin is actually moisturised and my make-up goes on well and what makes me know its working is that when I stop you I can see the difference in the texture of my skin.

I also don't get that glycerine feeling when I wakeup the nest day to wash my face its fantastic!

WARNING THIS IS A LONG POST!

OK so my first love is the "Beauty Sleep Concentrate", this is a wonderful serum that works at night feels amazing to put on and dries quickly it claims to leave your skin 98% more moisturised and I do feel a big difference in the morning, sometimes I don't even use my Orange flower facial oil or a cream and it does a good job!

]

I was also given a few samples to try at the store because I was supposed to get something free but they were out of stock and current 2 favourites are the "Frankincense Hydrating cream" and the "Orange Flower  Night cream".

I Love how the Frankincense feels as I apply it, so smooth and does really work I always wakeup with my skin feeling soft :)

I got this free on another purchase since my sister bought a few things for her friends new baby but my mum really loves the smell of this so I intend on giving it to her

A nice sized bottle smells a little funny to me but my mum likes it she used to have a Geranium plant which I also hated lol .

Has anyone else been enjoying Neal's Yard as much as me ?

Skin care products I am loving :)

FACE
So over the past months I have been trying to get my self a good skin care routine that works for me and keeps my skin hydrated and not breaking out.

My skin is on the dry side but certain aspects of my previous routine were making me breakout in horrible difficult to deal with spots.

My award winning "my actually award list :)" is the Neal's yard Orange flower facial oil I purchased my second bottle today because I loved it so much. It really is an amazing product and even though we are always being pushed into having so many different products into our skin care routine I personally feel that less is more.

It contains Neroli to help balance your skin, sea buckthorn to repair and replenish the skin and the lovely pomegranate for the dose of anti-oxidants.

It comes with this nice little applicator :) I use about 2 drops

I think they best way to look after to skin is by giving it what it actually needs not too much or too little, some people say we need to use masks toners and so forth but I feel like I should only use them when I need to.

For example I am prone to blackheads and possibly because my skin is dry so dry skin builds up on my pores and they eventually get clogged up.

I have read from blogs and facial therapists like Renee Relaou that you get blackheads when the oils in your pores oxidise therefore turning them black.

So I Incorporated an antioxidant in my skin care that is in the Neal's yard facial oil. and so far I'm loving it! it keeps my skin super soft I don't get that slimy feeling that I used to get with creams, this is because creams and lotions contain glycerin that becomes slimy when with water. the emollients used that contain glycerin  forms a barrier across the skin this also tends to result in clogged pores.

My little pump broke :( propbably because I dropped it about 50 times!

This is a free sample of the honey scrub which I will be trying

However without knowing any of this I personally felt that creams weren't for me :( but I was surprised to find out that it wasn't just me being fussy but the Neal's yard lady told me that little peace of info so I was relieved

I have also been using my Alpha-H rice scrub everyday to insure my make-up is all off and my skin is renewed although bare in mind I use it very gently only in my stubborn areas like my nose, forehead and sides of my nose.

One last tip the therapist told me was that because I wore make-up everyday it was important that I do use a toner because that is the only product that will stay in my skin after I wash it since when I was my face I wash all the essential oils off too, so a toner will help that.

Sorry Elemis I don't love you that much!

EYES

You may not remember that I purchased a few months ago the Bobbi brown concealer kit and the eye cream that comes with it.

Ooooh creamy.....

I knew that for my concealer to look and stay put nicely under my eyes they had to be moisturised and I also knew that I had to moisturise them to look after them since I wear concealer every day so I was happy with my choice, so far it has been good for me it doesn't do any miracles but in terms of my under eyes being less dry then yes its good, its a fairly thick cream but not too thick that it annoys me or makes me feel tired,
in my past experience eye creams have done that to me but this one seems to be good I also like how it contains Aloe Vera, Jojoba seed and Avocado Oil.

I don't think I will be changing it any time soon here is some info about it on the Bobbi brown website.

Has anyone tired any of these products?

Elimis Lovin...

Hello lovelies I have been really overwhelmed with the revision and work I have to do due to my tests in January therefore no going out but staying at home looking at books and questions and calculations! However that does not stop me from getting what I need lol and one great place to go is QVC. I know its very tempting to go mad and buy everything especially the TSV "Today's Special Value" and your hooked but I have to say I do have some control I don't really buy something unless I need it but Elemis is such an expensive and luxurious brand I would be stupid not to get it.

I Was also tempted by the Elemis Melting Cleanser Gel, new and exclusive to QVC before the Elemis salons get it, plus it removes makeup so I'm hoping to love this as much as I love my Alpha-H Triple action cleanser.

On to the goodies!

Pro collagen marine cream, Skin Nourishing body lotion, Melting cleanser gel, Exotic Frangipani Monoi Bath and shower cream, Frangipani Monoi moisture melt.and a medium silver bag to put it all in!

Gooodiiess!

I have been having problems with my skin I suffer from blackheads and the occasional breakout at that time of the month I feel like I have a combination sort of skin but more on the direr side since the only place that gets oily is my nose and the sides of my nose on my cheek area.

I want to try these in the near future after I finish all the products I am currently using and I will what happens I Will be posting a blog post about my current skin care and what I will be changing.

I am excited about trying the Melting cleanser gel mainly because I want to see if it beats my top favourite makeup remover Alpha-H Triple action cleanser it doesn't foam or dry out my face I don't breakout like I used to when I was using the Kiehl's Yerba Mate Tea facial wash which really stripped my skin.

Have you guys tried any Elemis products?

SBC Vitamine E gel

Ok, so I'm always on the hunt to find good creams lotions and all things skincare,  I usually find it hard to jump to another brand or try something new in case I break out, but one day I was watching QVC (my love) I happened to find  SBC on and I was interested since most of their products were gels in pumps.

I loved their minimal approach to the packaging to lower the price. I first layed my hands on them when my mum bought a set of different gels, Aloe Vera, propolis, arnica and collagen. I never got to try the other gels because my mum had given some as presents or was using them her self.

I used the Propolis and Arnica before and I  will do another review about them soon, but for now I will ramble about this amazing product.

I normally wouldn't actually tell people about this since I believe that a true beauty doesn't reveal her beauty secrets or go to potions but since I'm a beauty blogger I had to betray my self and talk about this much loved secret if mine.

So what is it?

Well its a moisturising gel that contains Vitamin E "A proactive skin smoothing moisturiser" it claims to be, and I have to say that I never in my life have I actually seen visible and texture change in the skin on my body like this before.

As some of you may be familiar with, some people tend to get these little tiny bumps on the back of there arms and tend to go a Little red, not a mad sight but not something  you want to have, I know nic from pixiewoo has them because she talked about it in one of their videos which I cannot remember oops!

So when I heard that this product is actually good for those areas and that its good for targeting bumpy skin I knew I had to grab it and try it out! I'm so glad I did because in just 3 days I realised and felt my skin had changed my sister even touched my arm and asked me "oh my how come they are so soft?" I was actually even more astonished since I didn't think anyone would realise, but to have touchably soft skin is amazing especially since there are so many products out there claiming to do so.

I have actually thought about quitting my Decleor and using this on my face instead, and since I suffer from lack heads I feel that if I use a water based gel it might help reduce  that and not clog up my pores ( I Don't know why but I feel like all creams have the tendency to clog up pores).

Nice little pump that doesn't let out too much :)

Texture:

The feeling of this product is like no other I feel like it really sinks in to my skin and gives it the drink it needs LOL,  I also don't feel it come off the next day if I have a shower or wash my arms.

Final thoughts:

It does tend to have slight sticky feeling but its not noticeable and after about 5 min it feels velvety. I was a little worried it wouldn't be as moisturising as my loccitan or decleor but I used it on my nose and I loved it. My nose tends to get patch but greasy dont ask me how but it shows when I put foundation on at the sides and the bridge while the ball area of my nose is shining on! I know could it be more complex?! I did actually wake up to find my nose smooth, moist and not shining .

I will definitely repurchase this, I love the non greasy feel to it and I love how it doesn't annoy my foundation when I blend it in.

Availability :QVC I got the 125ml in set of different gels from here but I will be getting the 500ml for £19.50. The best thing is that if you get don't like it or your skin doesn't seem to agree with it you can send it back within 30 days.

Sorry for the long review but it was worth the time it took for a thorough explanation, if you guys have a question about this product or any SBC products then leave a comments below and  I will get to you as quick as I can :)

Alpha-H skin care review

So I thought I would talk about my favourite skin care brand Alpha-H I absolutly adore this brand they have just have it so right! I never broke out I never ended up with a flaky face, only radiance and healthyness! They are priced at around £20 each but I prefer them to other commercial brands that are way over priced.

I am just going to go through the products I mentioned in the video to give a little Idea on what they do!

Triple Action Cleanser:

Remove face and eye makeup thoroughly with the assistance of Triple Action Cleanser (200ml) by Alpha-H. This light, anti-bacterial liquid cleanser has a non-foaming action for swift, effective cleansing. It's perfect for combination or oily skin, or for adults or teenagers suffering from persistent breakouts and congestion.

Not only will your skin feel softer, you'll be helping to protect it too when you apply Ultra Protector Daily Moisturiser (100ml) by Alpha-H. This effective moisturising treat for the skin contains vitamin E, soothing aloe vera and offers SPF 30 protection from sunburn. Purifying Clay Mask Product descrption not on website now so their description will be added later

The clay mask is infused with Vitamin A and helps remove impurities from the skin without drying it, apply one a week to maintain the effect of this product.

However as with all skin care products do not depend on them to keep your skin healthy but they should be a compliment to a well balanced diet and lots of water too.
